STATION APPROACH - WEST BYFLEET

MIXED USE REDEVELOPMENT

Client: Private Client.

The scheme comprised the demolition of a 1 and 2 storey Residential/Retail development and the subsequent redevelopment of three floors of mixed use accommodation within a Conservation Area.

The new ground floor retains retail accommodation on the street frontage and provides separate access to the residential accommodation.  There are nine 2 bedroom apartments within the scheme.

The site is within the West Byfleet Neighbourhood Centre adjacent to West Byfleet railway station.  It was a Town Planning requirement that the new building retained the mixed land use.

The design took its cue from the existing buildings within the Conservation Area.  Due to its location next to the Waterloo/ Portsmouth railway line, particular attention was paid to the acoustic attenuation of the external envelope.
